Kitchen Sign

Hello there :)  Hope this finds you well and having a good week.  The hard drive on my laptop went bad last week :(  It is getting fixed now and hopefully I will have it soon.  For now, I am using Dave's.  I really miss mine, lol.  Although I haven't been online very much this week.  A few minutes here and a few minutes there.  Dave is on vacation this week so I am spending as much time as I can with him before he goes back to work Monday.  He has worked 12 hour days, 7 days a week for the last month!  And with Wonder Bread going out of business, he has been even busier.  Feels like I haven't seen him in weeks.  He would be so exhausted when he got home from work, he would basically eat dinner and fall asleep.  It has been wonderful having him home this week,  We haven't done much, just drink lots of hot chocolate and watch lots of movies, etc.  It has been great!  I just got the boys off to school and Dave and Savannah are still asleep.  I figured I would jump on and do a quick blog post :)

I decorated my kitchen for Christmas and I looove the result!  I used greenery with lots of white and some silver.  I also put my little villages out in my sitting room.  I simplified a bit in there this year.  I didn't put my sweets/bakery inspired tree up, nor the decorations with it.  Just my village.  I like it much better with less.  I will be sharing my decor when I get my laptop back.

A few weeks ago, I saw this awesome sign on Decor Steals website ( love that site, lol ).  I just fell so in love with it!  It reminds me of a roadside pie stand or farmer's market.  As a kid, while driving up to Traverse City, we would always see little stands offering homemade pies and I thought it was so cute!  I just had to order it.  It goes well with the new direction I am taking my kitchen too.

When the sign first arrived, I wasn't thrilled with the colors.  It was much more "yellow" than I was expecting and the black was so dark, not really aged enough.  The pictures on the site looked different.  I took some white paint and rubbed it over the sign with a rag, then rubbed as much as I wanted off with another rag.  Then, I sanded it.  I like it much, much better now!  It is huge too.  So glad I bought it :)

I bought some beautiful Christmas decor items on Etsy this season.  I will show them in my next post,  Their are some gorgeous things out there ladies!  We have so much talent in our little world, it is amazing :)

Hope you have an amazing weekend.  Thanks so much for visiting me!  XO, Amy
