Soft Entertainment!?!?!?

I have an entertainment center. Yes, one of "THOSE" entertainment center's. You know, the kind that is a big no no as far as decor is concerned. But you know what else I have? A wonderful, loving, kind, supportive, patient husband and five beautiful little boys and they all love their technology and entertainment. Truth be told, I am known for watching my fair share of t.v. also. Just sayin'! I also have limited space. Things hanging on the wall in the places I want them AND, "THE" entertainment center fits perfectly in that space! Okay, so, I am not going to take something away from my loved ones. But "THE" entertainment center doesn't fit in my decor.

See what I mean?? Talk about UGLY! I have searched and searched for a "shabby" white one that fits this space. I have not been able to find one in the right size.

So, I did the next best thing! I painted mine white. What a change!! I love it!

I distressed it and added some cute decals.

And cute pink vintage glass knobs. I just love the change!! So cute and makes such a difference in the room! A special thank you to Celeste! I wouldn't have done this without you sweet friend!!
***********************************************************
I hope you are all having a beautiful week! I have had two sick babies with HIGH fevers :(:( Not fun in the summer (or any time!). I hope the rest of us don't get sick!
Do you have any plans for the fourth? I think we will BBQ. You have to on the 4th, right? Chad and I have a project to finish. I also need to plant my poor pink dogwood tree that looks so sick and sad, plant some blue delphiniums, roses and foxgloves. I hope it doesn't rain like it has been all week! Have a beautiful holiday! PLEASE don't forget to click HERE to visit Lily's birthday raffle! You wont want to miss out on the great prizes! I posted about it below. She is even having some special drawings! Today is a little swimming pool and cute froggy beach towel! Be sure and check it out :) Love to all! Be safe :)

Looks fantastic! I've been trying to get my courage up to do the same thing. Know what's worst than an entertainment center? A God-awful put together particle board entertainment center. Yikes!

Amy I just got over the fever and yucky virus!
I hope the boys feel better real quick!
This rainy cold weather doesn't help either!

I love the "NEW" entertainment center..... you did good girl!!!!
Maybe some floral paper or fabric for the backs of the shelves would be the icing on the cake and hide those ugly wires!

I think we are planning to go see the fireworks in houghton lake on friday night then yard sale and barbeque saturday...plus catch up on some yard work!
Lets pray we have nice weather and NO more RAIN.

Hugz, Doly

Hi Amy, WOW I love how the entertainment center turned out. You did a beautiful job and I love the pink knobs too. It makes such a beautiful difference with just some paint and added accents. I just love it.
Now you will be looking around for something else to paint. I tell ya, it is addicting.

Sorry the little ones are sick. Summer colds are no fun! Sounds like your 4th will be relaxing. We have a long weekend and plan to BBQ too. Maybe do a little antiquing as well.

Thanks for stopping by and your kind comments. Love all your redesigns.
Love ya, Celestina Marie

I sure hope the boys feel better soon, at least it isn't 87 degrees out with their poor fevers! The entertainment center looks so much better! I look at that and can't figure out the people who think it is wrong to paint wood! No plans for the 4th, just going to the parade and grilling. Happy 4th Amy!

What a difference, it looks fantastic!
If I had my way the tv would be in a unit with doors so it was hidden out of view. Like your boys, my lovely partner loves his technology. Large flat screen TV, PS3, WII, you name it, we have it but it's all so ugly. Why can't they pretty it up lol!
Happy 4th of July, have a great weekend.
((hugs))

look at you, little amy! you did an amazing job! i have also seen where you can add curtains with tension rods (if you ever want to hide the TV -- as if! -- LOL).

awesome details! love it!!!

i'm so sorry to hear about the little ones. my boys had fevers about 2 weeks ago. i am still wary of going to germy places (like the childrens museum). i hope everyone recovers quickly and that mama stays well!
