Cielo's Dessert Carnival!

Okay, the first thing I want to do is apologize for this TERRIBLE picture!!!! I was in such a hurry Saturday night when I finished this cake for my moms birthday, that it is quite sloppy! After sitting in the freezing cold for 6 hours watching my boys play baseball, a quick dinner and then finishing the cake ~ well, you get the point ~ anyway.....

I have a lot of yummy desserts that are hard to make and "gourmet" I guess you could say. But I decided to share a recipe that is very EASY and FAST for those of you that are like me, with kids and a life, lol!! This is a Pampered Chef recipe that I got from my good friend Denise. It is delicious and oh so easy! But it tastes like you spend hours on it :) That is the best part!

Turtle Fudge Skillet Cake

Devil's Food Cake Mix (and all ingredients to make the cake!)

4 square's of semi sweet bakers chocolate

a jar of caramel ice cream topping

chopped pecans

cool whip

Whip up the cake according to box directions. Pour cake batter into an oven proof non-stick skillet (grease bottom of pan first) bake 30 mins in 350 degree oven. Invert cake onto a serving platter, allow to cool. Microwave baking chocolate and half the caramel topping for 30 seconds (do not over heat), drizzle over cake allowing to flow over sides. Top with pecans, let set up. Drizzle remaining caramel topping over cake. Garnish with cool whip or ice cream! VOILA, a simple and delicious CHOCOLATE cake! This gets rave reviews in my house! Colton already asked for it for his birthday in September :)
