Hello :) Hope you are having a great week. I had intended to do this post yesterday but just couldn't get myself motivated. I have so much to do but cant seem to get going :( Anyway, I wanted to share some pretty, easy and best of all cheap ideas for little Christmas gifts! We have so many special people in our lives and this time of year it just feels right to give. You know, those people, like, mail carriers, teachers etc.. Maybe a special nurse, sales associate. Or one of your children's friends mom's that have helped you with transportation throughout the year or the bus driver! The list goes on and on. It is nice to show a little appreciation at Christmas time; but without breaking the bank in the process, lol. So, I came up with a few little gifts this season and wanted to share them with you.

I absolutely love this first item!! I am definitely going back for more of these! A favorite shop of mine, Post Road Vintage, now has homemade soap available!! That's right, the ever busy and creative Heather has added another awesome product to her shoppe. Who doesn't love lavender? These huge bars of homemade soap make an amazing gift for just about anyone. A girlfriend, teacher, you name it. Not only does it smell great and leave your skin super soft, it is sooo reasonably priced! Only $6.00 a bar! Can you believe that?
And just look how pretty the packaging is. It is wrapped with a pretty piece of vintage lace and paper with Heather's shoppe name, Post Road Vintage. They even come in a little linen bag, all ready to give. A bar or two of this is such a unique gift. You can find them

These next few items are things that I came up with. Something made by your hands is always extra special :)
I looove candles. Not only do I like to burn them but have them out as decor. The ones I have shown cannot be burned. I decoupaged them with sheet music and then added a bit of coarse silver glitter. I decided I didn't like how yellow the sheet music looked. So I just rubbed some white paint over them. I think they would be sooo pretty if left plain white! You can find really inexpensive white candles like this. I bought a pack of 10 for $2.99 at my supermarket. For these, I took three of the candles and wrapped a doily around them. Then, I just cut a strip of that Jeanne d' Arc wrapping paper I loved so much and wrapped it around the candles. Tied some twine around them and added a vintage rhinestone brooch! Sooo easy but so pretty too.
They even look pretty sitting in the Christmas tree :)
Slip them in a little pouch adorned with a simple ornament and you have a pretty, unique gift. It would be pretty to do this in traditional red and gold too! Red candles would be so pretty.
These little waterless snow globes are so cute and fun to make. I think they are just super cute as a teacher gift because the kids can help make them! All you need is a mason jar, mod podge , glue, glitter, mica flakes and any little items you would like to put inside. I wanted to keep mine very neutral and simple. So I just used a white bottle brush tree inside. I used what I had on hand here at home. Didn't have to buy a thing for this project :)
These would be cute with little deer, a little house or church, little stars could be used to fall when you shake it. Anything really. That is what is so fun :)
Every time I am in the checkout line at Michael's, I get sucked into the dollar bins, lol. They strategically place them there, lol. Awhile ago, they had these paper mache birds in the dollar section! I love anything paper mache. They have all different shapes too, not just birds. So of course, I had to get some!
I just painted three coats of white paint on this one and then covered it in clear glitter. I wanted it nice and simple. Then, I added a tiny piece of tatting and a rhinestone star.
It also sits up nice so it can be tucked into a holiday vignette. This is another thing that is great for the kids to make as gifts. Cute for grandparents or aunts and uncles because it is created by their little hands :) Obviously not everyone decorates with white, lol. Would be pretty in red or any Christmas color. Don't forget to write your name and the year on the bottom :)
Wrap it pretty and their ya go, a $1.00 gift!
Speaking of pretty packaging, isn't that one of the best parts about gifts? I love to wrap things all nice and pretty :) This is one of my most favorite ways to package small gifts. A simple brown penny candy bag, white doily and a clothespin! I decoupage the clothes pins also and then add a magnet to the back for another tiny gift :) This one, I just covered in pretty, simple white lace. Great way to wrap up a gift card, cookies, jewelry. Then just add a festive tag. (Adorable tags shown in the last two photos are available at
TIMEWASHED.)
Don't forget about the guys either :) Guy teachers, mailmen, bus drivers etc. :) To me, guys are a lot harder to create little gifts for, lol. One great gift is hot chocolate! Who doesn't love that? You can find cute little jars or mason jars at any supermarket for cheap. Fill with powdered hot chocolate mix, create a cute little tag with instructions if needed, tie it around the top and their you go!
THESE chocolate dipped spoons are fun to make and perfect to add to your hot chocolate gift too! My kids love making them. If you have a Tim Horton's in your state, I highly recommend their candy cane hot chocolate! It comes in a can of powdered mix and it is sooo creamy and good! Perfect for your little jars :)
Do you have any cheap, simple gifts you like to give? I would love to hear them!
