A giveaway!!!

It has been awhile since I have done a giveaway. I thought it was time. It is just a small giveaway but hopefully it can help with the winter blues.
I bought these beautiful tiny cards from Jeanne d' Arc living. I fell so in love with them. They came with 8 different cards each with a different print on them. They don't have envelopes which is fine with me. They are too small to put in the mail but would be cute attached to a gift. I decided to use them in other ways though. I would love to frame them in an old ceiling tile picture frame. But they also look cute as a garland!
Here are two of them.
Another two...
They also look cute placed all around my sitting room too. This one is so pretty with lace.
An old chair back...
Sweet little notes...
Pretty bracelet with aqua touches.
And, since it came with eight, I decided to share four of them with you!! You will receive the four pictured above. They are all so pretty and delicate.
I am also giving away five feet from my roll of Jeanne d' Arc gift wrap! NOTE: the paper will be folded to save on shipping fees .I have shown this gorgeous paper before. It is printed with an old document. You can wrap beautiful gifts as well as craft with it. I have done a lot of crafting with this paper. I showed some things I have done at Christmas. I have also done a lot of Valentine items with it that I will show in another post.
If you would like a chance to win the four cards and five feet of paper, please leave a comment on THIS post. Please sign up as a follower for a second chance to win. If you would like a third chance to win, post about this giveaway on your blog :) I will randomly draw a winner on Monday the 28th of January.

These items really are beautiful! Jeanne d' Arc has the prettiest products. Imagine the fun you could have creating during these cold bitter grey days of winter. I know I sure have been enjoying it and I wanted to share it with you :)
***************
Have a great weekend!I hope to post some of my Valentine decor next week. I also just received the most AmAzInG and beatiful Easter/spring book I have ever seen!!! It is absolutely to die for and I cant wait to share it with you :)
Thank you for visiting me today!! XO Amy

My Holiday Home Part 1, The Kitchen

Hello :) Hope you all had a great weekend! Today, I wanted to show some of my Christmas decor. I am starting with my kitchen. Their are tons of pics, so I wont do much talking, lol.

Welcome to my Christmas kitchen :)  My son Dylan is looking at me like I am crazy, lol.

This is my sweet little live Christmas tree.  I put it in my vintage egg gathering basket with some burlap tucked inside.

Pretty angel wings for the topper.  I made most of the ornaments on this tree.

Pretty tag is from Sandi at Wayside Treasures.  I love it!

Pretty tag ornament from Ozma Of Odds.

Little vignette behind my sink area.  I used lots of greenery, silver and white.

Silver tree is from Pottery Barn, as is the silver deer.  White deer was painted by my daughter Emily.

Apothecary jar that I filled with faux snow, a little boxwood and some vintage candle clips that I bought all the way in Denmark!  I have seen them a lot in Jeanne d' Arc this season and just had to find some.   Beautiful angel wing ornament is from Sandi at Wayside Treasures.

Mercury glass bowl filled with more faux snow, a vintage pewter goblet to which I added boxwood, a bottle brush tree and one of the filled heart ornaments I did, shown in a previous post.  I also put the candles I decorated in the bowl too.  I showed how I did them a couple of posts ago.

Candle clip with candle sitting in a little old tart tin :)

Another new purchase this year is this great bottle garland. I bought it a few months ago.  For Christmas, I put some rosemary in each one along with a tiny candy cane.  About a month after I bought this, the Jeanne d' Arc November issue came out.  It showed a garland almost identical to this, wrapped around branches with a rosebud in each bottle, to create a rosebud tree!  I definitely want to do that.  This will be great to fill with these for all seasons :)

My hutch decorated for Christmas :)

Little candy bar area (which just cant seem to stay stocked with candy, lol).

Adorable gift card basket I bought from Becky of Timewashed.  These are sooo cute!  They come with a little bottle brush tree, white deer ornament and precious little envelope to hold your gift card!

I put a branch, one of the little heart ornaments I did and a little bottle brush tree in a vintage silver creamer.

This great cone was a purchase from eab designs.  I love this!!  Looks so pretty with the green.

Top pf the hutch, an old basket filled with faux snowballs, vintage mercury glass ornaments and greenery. Also, a gorgeous sparkly star.

This beautiful star was another purchase from Sandi from Wayside Treasures.  I wish you could see the sparkly glitter on this!  This pretty box is one of my favorite purchases ever!

Little salt shaker ornament that I made.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to do it!!  My daughter wants me to make her one now :)

Jeanne d' Arc cup rack decorated for Christmas :)

Beautiful ribbon and tag :)

Little vignette on the counter.  I purchased the gorgeous candle from Sandi, Wayside Treasures.  Can you tell I love her work?  And notice, it is covered in my favorite paper :)  Love the sparkly stars too.  I tucked it in my Pampered Chef bowls with some white pears.

I also had to share this new candle I just bought.  It smells sooo good!  Almost fools people into thinking you have been baking, lol!

Kitchen Sign

Hello there :)  Hope this finds you well and having a good week.  The hard drive on my laptop went bad last week :(  It is getting fixed now and hopefully I will have it soon.  For now, I am using Dave's.  I really miss mine, lol.  Although I haven't been online very much this week.  A few minutes here and a few minutes there.  Dave is on vacation this week so I am spending as much time as I can with him before he goes back to work Monday.  He has worked 12 hour days, 7 days a week for the last month!  And with Wonder Bread going out of business, he has been even busier.  Feels like I haven't seen him in weeks.  He would be so exhausted when he got home from work, he would basically eat dinner and fall asleep.  It has been wonderful having him home this week,  We haven't done much, just drink lots of hot chocolate and watch lots of movies, etc.  It has been great!  I just got the boys off to school and Dave and Savannah are still asleep.  I figured I would jump on and do a quick blog post :)

I decorated my kitchen for Christmas and I looove the result!  I used greenery with lots of white and some silver.  I also put my little villages out in my sitting room.  I simplified a bit in there this year.  I didn't put my sweets/bakery inspired tree up, nor the decorations with it.  Just my village.  I like it much better with less.  I will be sharing my decor when I get my laptop back.

A few weeks ago, I saw this awesome sign on Decor Steals website ( love that site, lol ).  I just fell so in love with it!  It reminds me of a roadside pie stand or farmer's market.  As a kid, while driving up to Traverse City, we would always see little stands offering homemade pies and I thought it was so cute!  I just had to order it.  It goes well with the new direction I am taking my kitchen too.

When the sign first arrived, I wasn't thrilled with the colors.  It was much more "yellow" than I was expecting and the black was so dark, not really aged enough.  The pictures on the site looked different.  I took some white paint and rubbed it over the sign with a rag, then rubbed as much as I wanted off with another rag.  Then, I sanded it.  I like it much, much better now!  It is huge too.  So glad I bought it :)

I bought some beautiful Christmas decor items on Etsy this season.  I will show them in my next post,  Their are some gorgeous things out there ladies!  We have so much talent in our little world, it is amazing :)

Hope you have an amazing weekend.  Thanks so much for visiting me!  XO, Amy

Cheap, Easy Little Gifts

Hello :) Hope you are having a great week. I had intended to do this post yesterday but just couldn't get myself motivated. I have so much to do but cant seem to get going :( Anyway, I wanted to share some pretty, easy and best of all cheap ideas for little Christmas gifts! We have so many special people in our lives and this time of year it just feels right to give. You know, those people, like, mail carriers, teachers etc.. Maybe a special nurse, sales associate. Or one of your children's friends mom's that have helped you with transportation throughout the year or the bus driver! The list goes on and on. It is nice to show a little appreciation at Christmas time; but without breaking the bank in the process, lol. So, I came up with a few little gifts this season and wanted to share them with you.
I absolutely love this first item!! I am definitely going back for more of these! A favorite shop of mine, Post Road Vintage, now has homemade soap available!! That's right, the ever busy and creative Heather has added another awesome product to her shoppe. Who doesn't love lavender? These huge bars of homemade soap make an amazing gift for just about anyone. A girlfriend, teacher, you name it. Not only does it smell great and leave your skin super soft, it is sooo reasonably priced! Only $6.00 a bar! Can you believe that?
And just look how pretty the packaging is. It is wrapped with a pretty piece of vintage lace and paper with Heather's shoppe name, Post Road Vintage. They even come in a little linen bag, all ready to give. A bar or two of this is such a unique gift. You can find them HERE

These next few items are things that I came up with.  Something made by your hands is always extra special :)

I looove candles. Not only do I like to burn them but have them out as decor. The ones I have shown cannot be burned. I decoupaged them with sheet music and then added a bit of coarse silver glitter. I decided I didn't like how yellow the sheet music looked. So I just rubbed some white paint over them. I think they would be sooo pretty if left plain white! You can find really inexpensive white candles like this. I bought a pack of 10 for $2.99 at my supermarket. For these, I took three of the candles and wrapped a doily around them. Then, I just cut a strip of that Jeanne d' Arc wrapping paper I loved so much and wrapped it around the candles. Tied some twine around them and added a vintage rhinestone brooch! Sooo easy but so pretty too.
They even look pretty sitting in the Christmas tree :)
Slip them in a little pouch adorned with a simple ornament and you have a pretty, unique gift. It would be pretty to do this in traditional red and gold too! Red candles would be so pretty.
These little waterless snow globes are so cute and fun to make. I think they are just super cute as a teacher gift because the kids can help make them! All you need is a mason jar, mod podge , glue, glitter, mica flakes and any little items you would like to put inside. I wanted to keep mine very neutral and simple. So I just used a white bottle brush tree inside. I used what I had on hand here at home. Didn't have to buy a thing for this project :)
These would be cute with little deer, a little house or church, little stars could be used to fall when you shake it. Anything really. That is what is so fun :)
Every time I am in the checkout line at Michael's, I get sucked into the dollar bins, lol. They strategically place them there, lol. Awhile ago, they had these paper mache birds in the dollar section! I love anything paper mache. They have all different shapes too, not just birds. So of course, I had to get some!
I just painted three coats of white paint on this one and then covered it in clear glitter. I wanted it nice and simple. Then, I added a tiny piece of tatting and a rhinestone star.
It also sits up nice so it can be tucked into a holiday vignette. This is another thing that is great for the kids to make as gifts. Cute for grandparents or aunts and uncles because it is created by their little hands :) Obviously not everyone decorates with white, lol. Would be pretty in red or any Christmas color. Don't forget to write your name and the year on the bottom :)
Wrap it pretty and their ya go, a $1.00 gift!
Speaking of pretty packaging, isn't that one of the best parts about gifts? I love to wrap things all nice and pretty :) This is one of my most favorite ways to package small gifts. A simple brown penny candy bag, white doily and a clothespin! I decoupage the clothes pins also and then add a magnet to the back for another tiny gift :) This one, I just covered in pretty, simple white lace. Great way to wrap up a gift card, cookies, jewelry. Then just add a festive tag. (Adorable tags shown in the last two photos are available at TIMEWASHED.)

Don't forget about the guys either :) Guy teachers, mailmen, bus drivers etc. :) To me, guys are a lot harder to create little gifts for, lol. One great gift is hot chocolate! Who doesn't love that? You can find cute little jars or mason jars at any supermarket for cheap. Fill with powdered hot chocolate mix, create a cute little tag with instructions if needed, tie it around the top and their you go! THESE chocolate dipped spoons are fun to make and perfect to add to your hot chocolate gift too! My kids love making them. If you have a Tim Horton's in your state, I highly recommend their candy cane hot chocolate!  It comes in a can of powdered mix and it is sooo creamy and good!  Perfect for your little jars :)

Do you have any cheap, simple gifts you like to give? I would love to hear them!
